The Day the Pockets Disappeared

What the fuck is this business of sealing up pockets in women's garments, especially our pants? What exactly is the message we are to take from this? That we bring nothing of value? That we are too delicate to carry our own shit? That the tiniest of bulges will ruin our silhouettes? 

Should our mouths be sewn shut too?

Maybe clothing manufacturers decided to seal up the final pocket when the last public payphone was yanked out. Women of a certain age (old) will remember that we were instructed to always carry a dime/quarter to make that all important call if we found ourselves stranded. Those coins won't help now. 

Well I say fuck you.

I simply won't buy clothes without pockets.
